COSTS: Please NOTE that SPIRITUAL GROWTH INSTITUTE does NOT charge DUES or have preset “Donations.”

Spiritual Growth Institute’s philosophy on financial support is deeply rooted in the Spiritual Law of Reciprocity and the Virtue of Philanthropy; therefore:

We take our direction from Paul in his letter to the Corinthians where he writes: “Each one of you should give just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, because God loves a cheerful giver.”

FAQ in regard to SGI’s “Donation NOT Dues” policy

Q: Why don’t you Charge? Don’t you think people won’t appreciate their credentials?
A: No we are not concerned with people not appreciating their credentials. Someone requesting credentials from SGI has already gone through many steps of education, information gathering, and relationship building before application, if not from SGI then from another New Thought Organization. Money cannot buy appreciation, love, and dedication. Actions speak louder than words.

Q: But I thought we are supposed to charge money?
A: Not sure who started that rumor – that concept was never in New Thought teaching until recently. All New Thought Authors emphasized giving. The outcome of giving is receiving as scripture tells us that “…It is in giving that we receive.” In western church history, "charging money for enlightenment or salvation" floated in and out of consciousness.  It began with Simon the magician who wanted to learn how the apostles manifested spiritual gifts and wanted to pay for it. That is where we get the word "Simony" from.  SGI does not practice simony.

Q: But there are people out there who will take advantage and only send $1.
A: There is an old saying: “How others treat you is their Karma, how you react is your karma.” That said, if a person’s ability to give is limited by means or consciousness – it does not matter to SGI, because we know that through affiliation with us limitations will eventually be removed. Once a person becomes part of our community he or she becomes part of SGI’s prosperity consciousness of philanthropic giving and their consciousness grows and changes.

Q: But aren’t you afraid that you will attract people with a poverty consciousness and it will affect the entire organization? Or maybe worse – maybe you will attract people who will take advantage of you and others!
A: First of all, you are putting way too much power into a simple donation and second, you aren’t trusting in the Divine Abundance which is already ours. SGI affirms that prosperity is everyone's divine right.

Here is the bottom line:
1)Part of SGI’s mission is to help people develop their prosperity consciousness and we have found that consciousness develops at its own pace but like anything else, when fed, watered and cared for properly it will grow healthier and more quickly.
2)Growing consciousness requires that each person best begins WHERE HE/SHE IS AT. Jumping into the deep end of a pool when you can’t swim is, well…, just stupid. Saving up and paying a huge sum of money to give it away so you can receive a blessing is, well…, just like jumping into the deep end of a pool without the skills to swim. Each person MUST BEGIN WHERE his or her consciousness is.
3)SGI is more concerned about the process – not the dollar amounts. The Reality is that if we can’t teach you how to grow and develop your consciousness AND give you opportunities to practice then we are not fulfilling our Spiritual Mission. We want to run this notion of impeccable integrity throughout the organization. Eventually you might become the next Executive Minister (because we are a democratic organization), if you don’t practice your philanthropy now and allow your prosperity consciousness to unfold then it will affect the entire organization. Also your own ministry/charter will be affected. SGI wants the success of all our clergy and ministries. So, it is imperative that each member of this organization know and understands how the Spiritual Process (System) works.
